
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 123rd minute of the semifinal game against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 20 assists and 28 goals in 2012. This made her the sixth-youngest and youngest popular player in the world to score 20 goals in one year. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
